The number after "P" in a video wall's name is its pixel pitch in millimetres — the distance between LED clusters.
A smaller number means tighter pixel spacing and a sharper image at close viewing distances; a larger number is built for viewing from further away, where finer pixels wouldn't be visible anyway.
P2.5 Indoor suits close-viewing indoor spaces — retail interiors, control rooms, reception walls — where people stand within a few metres of the screen.
P3 and P4 Outdoor are weatherproof, built for exposure to the elements, and suited to installations viewed from a greater distance, such as building facades or outdoor event screens. P3's tighter 3mm pitch gives a marginally sharper image than P4's 4mm at the same distance.
A video wall is built from multiple LED panels tiled together into one seamless image, rather than a single manufactured screen — this makes it modular and scalable well beyond what a single-panel display can reach, but installation and calibration need more planning than mounting a single commercial display.
